Position Overview:

Emory Alva, a pioneering business advisory firm, is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to join our team. This role is designed for a strategic thinker skilled in identifying opportunities, developing relationships, and driving business growth across both government and business sectors. The Director will be crucial in sourcing and managing new contracts and enhancing our CRM platform for optimal Customer lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

Government and Business Contracting: Prepare and submit bids for contracts with both government entities and private businesses. Navigate the complexities of RFPs and RFQs across diverse sectors to secure successful bids.
Client Acquisition: Develop and execute robust strategies for actively pursuing new clients across different markets, leveraging a strong personal network to identify potential Customers.
Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, ensuring a robust pipeline of business opportunities.
CRM and Customer Lifecycle Management: Lead the setup and optimization of a CRM platform to streamline the management of the Customer lifecycle, enhancing Customer experience and engagement.
Project Assistance: Provide strategic insights and assistance on projects within the firm, utilizing deep industry experience.
Team Leadership and Department Growth: Start as an individual contributor with the potential to scale and lead the development of the business development department as the business expands. Responsible for hiring and managing a team aligned with our strategic objectives.

Requirements:

Proven experience in business development, with a strong background in securing contracts from both government agencies and private sector businesses.
Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and secure RFPs/RFQs across varied markets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively managing relationships and influencing key stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with robust analytical capability to evaluate end-to-end customer acquisition processes.
Established network of contacts and the ability to leverage relationships for business growth.
Experience in setting up and managing CRM systems to support business development activities.
Demonstrated capability to build and lead teams as business scales.
Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%).
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Direct accountability to the president of the company, reflecting the strategic importance of this role.
